Leipzig Bookfair 2013 (GERMAN) →

To sum it up in English: I enjoyed this year’s Leipzig Bookfair. It wasn’t my all-time-favourite, but had some impressive events. For Cosplayers, I think Leipzig is still one of the most important conventions of the year.

Back! :)
Sorry for being on hiatus for so long, a lot of things have been keeping me busy, but I intend to use the convention winter break to write about the original German language Manga scene on a more regular basis again.

For the first time, the International Comic Salon Erlangen is also hosting a market for self-published Manga and products related to the fandom (jewelry, buttons and other merchandise) in 2012.
The market will be on Saturday, June 9th only (festival is form June 7th to 10th). You won’t need a ticket to visit the market.

delayed & cancelled 2012 episode 1
Catching up with the recent news on German Manga, the following titles have been delayed:
According the Tokyopop board, the 3rd volume of Anna Hollmann’s Stupid Story is not done yet. A new release date will be announced.
As announced by Cursed Side, the Manga Be mine has been cancelled.
The 2012 release list has been updated accordingly.

"Subway to Sally - Storybook 2"-Preview in COMIX... →
The February issue of the Comix magazine will feature a preview of the upcoming 2nd volume of the Subway to Sally - Storybook (which will be released by Schwarzer Turm in March).
If you want to order a copy of the issue, ask your German, Austrian or Swiss comic book dealer or order it online e.g. at the freibeutershop (you can buy back runs there, too).

Schwarzer Turm sets release date for Subway to...
The 2nd Subway to Sally Storybook will be released at this year’s Leipzig Bookfair in March. The book contains short comics based on the band’s lyrics, interpreted and drawn by several German speaking artists who will be revealed here ( http://www.schwarzerturm.de/subway.html) as the release draws nearer.

Yonen Buzz in COMIX

There’s another youtube-channel dealing with Anime, Manga (& western comic cultures) and Japanese Lifestyle: kokoroto, produced by Gesamtkunstwerk.
In distinction from aufgezeichnet.tv, Kokoroto publishes single videos or series of videos that stand alone. The magazine is hosted by Anne Delseit and reporters Jojo and Sarah. The videos contain interviews, coverages, features et cetera.

I would like to add a list of current (!), at least semi-professional original German language web-Manga to the blog. I know, there’s animexx.de and you can really find a lot of web-Manga there, but you will have to dig through tons of half-baked doujinshi to find a certain quality. I’m looking for webcomics by German-speaking artists...
